She waits by his side and rocks from the balls of her feet to the heels over and over, her arms moving by her side as well. It doesn’t take long, but to avoid any awkward small talk for the moment being, she busies herself with reading over the menu and by the time the drinks come out, she has confidence to ensure that she memorized the entire “coffee” side of the menu and the prices.
With a chilled drink in her hand, she follows him to the secluded seat that, surprisingly, isn’t crowded at all. Contrary to her belief, most of the customers are early birds taking their morning shot of espresso and leaving to work, just as she was planning to do, had fate not changed her course.
She’s broken free from her thoughts when she hears the deep voice in front of her and she tilts her head before she finally comprehends what he said, nodding like an eager child who was promised some sort of reward. After a quick sip of her drink, she notices the shifted position of the snapback and smiles widely when she’s able to see the entire expanse of the face that’s directly across from her.
“Half-day, actually. We have practice when the sun sets, but other than that, I’d call today pretty free. How about you? You guys…have a comeback, from what I’ve heard.” Of course, she knows about their comeback and the hustle and bustle that comes with getting ready for such stages, which leaves her perplexed - why isn’t he with the others?
