Her eyes widen at the sight of his starting to glisten and she hurries to run a hand through the hair that rests on his scalp, a sigh drawing out past her glossed lips. It’s always been a worry to see his tears, though she knows how easily they can spill from time to time, especially when his life gets hard - she’s experienced it enough to know when the breaking point swings around.

“I know, Hunnie. The thing you have to remember is that you’re not going through it alone. The last thing you’ll ever be in this world is by yourself.” Her words lack the assertion it usually does and her tone is much softer than she meant for it to be perceived. “You’ll have me for as long as I live, no matter the circumstances.” She nods her head and moves her chair closer to his, the hand atop his own never abandoning the fellow limb.

The tears bring out another sigh and she drops her fingers from his hair to wrap her thin arm around his hunched shoulders, her face pressing against his neck as well to breathe some comfort into his tense body. It’s been a while since they’ve had time to patch up the scratches in their relationship that her busy schedules created, and there’s another pang of guilt that washes through her entire body, so she compensates by turning her body and the chair in the process as well, hugging onto him and lifting her head to let his find rest and comfort in the crook of her neck, her fingers carding ever so gently into his colored locks, the other arm tight and firm around him, her voice just a sweet whisper.

“I’m here for the good and bad, always.” Comfort was never her thing, but she learned a few things along the way: Money, food, and materialistic things only bring comfort and happiness for a few days, at max, but what really matters is the presence of others that deliver the items and how comforting it is when they stay after the delivery. It’s not much, but it’s all she has to offer.
